Operating Help for Owners of Chinese Ham Rigs

One often-heard complaint about the low-priced Chinese ham rigs that are making big inroads into the U.S. market is that the quality of the user manuals does not match that of the radios. Help is on the way, reports Newsline, which says a group calling itself the Radio Documentation Project is working to produce high-quality, in-depth, open-souce manuals for Chinese-built handhelds. The first one completed is for the Baofeng UV-5R dual-bander. It may be downloaded for free, in PDF format, from <tinyurl.com/new-uv5r-booklet>.
