Milestones: Two Well-Known Hams Become Silent Keys

New Mexico DXer and DXpeditioner Milt Jensen, N5IA, was killed in early June after falling from a tower. He was 73 and had been licensed since 1960.

Two-way radio engineer Mike Santana, WB6TEB, became a Silent Key in late May at age 84. According to the ARRL Letter, Santana was retired from Fanon-Courier, where he had been Vice President of Engineering. He is credited with designing the Clegg FM-76 220-MHz transceiver (which was also licensed to Midland and Cobra) as well as the President line of CB transceivers, which were favorites for conversion to 10-meter amateur use.
