NPOTA From the White House

The White House is one of the most heavily-secured buildings in the United States, but its grounds are a national park – President's Park, to be specific – and in August, a group of hams from New York State operated a National Parks on the Air (NPOTA) station from the White House grounds.

According to "Newsline," the group of nine operators made 1250 QSOs over a two-day period on August 5 and 6, including one Secret Service agent who is also a ham. He borrowed one of the group's handhelds and made a simplex contact from a short distance away.
